Mind the “Gap”
We all know about the so-called ‘gap’ – the disjuncture between public opinions, views and values and what people actually do. Maybe it’s time we rethink the gap altogether – and focus on what really impedes people from acting – that is, concerns, anxieties and feelings – that it’s not so much a gap but a tangle. I suggest our job is to unravel this tangle, with the help of psychological insights – and create the traction we need.
